This petition deals with the Attorney General’s complete abstention from ordering the opening of criminal investigations against GSS interrogators suspected of torture and/or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment (hereinafter: “ill-treatment”) of interrogees.

On 25 February 2009, the Jerusalem District Court held a hearing on the Freedom of Information petition that was filed by PCATI and the Movement for Freedom of Information demanding to receive detailed information concerning the treatment of complaints filed by GSS interrogees.

petition filed by PCATI on behalf of three detainees who had been held at the “Shomron” detention facility demanding that the respondents reply why they do not allow detainees being held at the facility free access to toilet facilities at all time and why they should not build additional toilets in the yard, near the detention cells, that would guarantee proper sanitary conditions.

The Apartheid Order issued by GOC Central command, Yair Naveh, which prohibited the Israelis and employees of international organizations from transporting Palestinians in their vehicles was frozen on 16 January 2007 following pressure by human rights organizations including PCATI, led by “Yesh Din”. 

This petition is concerned with an official policy adopted by the goverment of Israel at the outset of the El Aqsa Intifada, whose main plank is the execution of wanted Palestinian individuals who are suspected of initiating, planning, and carrying out acts of terror against citizens of the state of Israel.
