PCATI wrote  Aharon Franko, Police Commissioner of the District of Jerusalem, demanding that he open a criminal investigation into the killing of Qassem Mughrabi, the driver involved  in the motor vehicle collision  incident in the Zahal Square in Jerusalem on 22 September 2008.

Following a complaint filed on 17 December 2007 by PCATI Attorney Samah Elkhatib Ayoub, a soldier was convicted of assault leading to injury and for inappropriate behavior.

The Public Committee Against Torture in Israel (PCATI) calls on the Knesset not to pass the proposed amendment to the Detention of Illegal Combatants Law debated in the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee

The Public Committee Against Torture in Israel (PCATI) and the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) appealed to the Minister of Justice demanding that he oppose a law proposal to permanently anchor in law the exemption given to the police from the obligation to document investigations of security offenses by audio and visual means.

On 31.12.07, PCATI's attorney Yaara Kalmanovich submitted a letter of complaint to the military prosecutor demanding that they develop new regulations and instructions in order to restrict the use of dogs by IDF soldiers and to prohibit any use of dogs towards detainees.

Appeal by PCATI attorney Yaara Kalmanowitz to the Minister of Internal Security demanding the amendment of the regulations concerning the supervision of detainees in hospitals.

PCATI attorney Samah Elkhatib-Ayoub submitted a complaint to attorney Hertzel Shviro, Head of the Police Investigations Department, against police officers who seriously assaulted and sodomized Mr. Mohammad Werneeat the Maaleh Adumim police station.

On 21 November 2007, PCATI attorney, Yaara Kalmanowitz, submitted letters of complaint to the Israel Police and the Israel Prison Service (IPS) on behalf of PCATI and Adalah-The Legal Center for Arab Minority in Israel concerning excessive violence during a search operation by Israel Prison Service units on tents housing security prisoners at the Ketziot Detention Facility which led to the injury of a large number of inmates and the death of the prisoner, Mohamad El-Ashkar.

On 21 November 2007, PCATI attorney Samah Elkhatib-Ayoub submitted a complaint to the Attorney General on behalf of Ima’ad Hotri, a detainee who stated that he was tortured at the Kison Detention Center.
