PCATI wrote a letter to US President Barack Obama welcoming his decision to close the Guantanamo detention facility and the secret CIA detention centers and to put an end to the use of torture by US security agencies. In the letter, PCATI's Executive Director, Dr. Ishai Menuchin, expressed his hope that the government that will be formed in Israel will take similar steps concerning the interrogation methods of the GSS (General Security Service) in Israel and the Occupied Territories.
