An article from The Guardian (21.6.09) on physicians and torture in Israel.  It refers to our 2007 report, "Ticking Bombs" in which we demonstrate, with evidence, the involvement of Isreali physicians in Torture. This is both a serious matter precisely because of Israel's ongoing practices which reflect a culture of impunity, leaving perpetrators without fear of criminal or civil sanction, including physicians who are involved in treating detainees injured in interrogation yet fail to ask about or report injuries. For more information see our letter, together with PHR-Israel, to Prof. Avinoam Reches, Head of the IMA (Israeli Medical Association) ethics committee.
