PCATI attorney Samah Elkhatib-Ayoub testified on 9 August 2009 in Amman before the UN Special Committee to Investigte Israeli Practices affecting Human Rights of the Palestinian People and other Arabs of the Occupied Territories.

 Attorney Elkhatib-Ayoub reported in detail on the violations of the rights of Palestinian detainees and prisoners held by the Israeli authorities that took place since PCATI last testified before the Committee two years ago. She addressed the issues of the use of family members as a form of pressure on detainees, the involvement of physicians in torture and the violation of the rights of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip who had been arrested during the "Cast Lead" operation.

In the past several months PCATI also testified before the UN Committee against Torture (CAT) and the Goldstone Commission that is investigating allegations of human rights violations during the "Cast Lead" operation in Gaza.
