The Public Committee Against Torture in Israel (PCATI) and Amnesty International – Israel invite you to participate in the call to transform the Jerusalem police headquarters at the Russian Compound – that houses a GSS interrogation and torture unit – into a torture free zone

“Itzik released my hands from the shackles and shackled them from the arm. An additional interrogator arrived, who held my other hand, and they both began pressing on the shackle with the intention of closing it as tightly as possible, which stopped the blood flow in my hands and caused very severe pains. This continued for about ten minutes, until my hands swelled drastically”.

(From the testimony of H.L. who was tortured at the GSS interrogation unit in the Russian Compound in June 2006)

We will mark the compound with a yellow and black tape designating it as a torture free zone and distribute information to participants and passers by.

The event will be held on Monday, 25 June 2007, 4:00 PM -7:00 PM. Point of assembly will be at the Sergei Building, Heleni Hamalka Street, Jerusalem.
