שוב הנגב הופך להיות זירת קטל בחיכוך בין המשטרה לאזרחים. לא יעלה על הדעת שכל שכמעט בכל מפגש של שוטרים עם קהילות בדואיות בנגב יהיה כרוך באלימות ובשפיכות דמים. זה קורה כשברקע פוליטיקאים מנסים לגרוף הון פוליטי על המצב, ושופכים שמן למדורה בהתבטאויות, בביקורים שנועדו להתסיס את הרוחות ובמהלכים מסוכנים נוספים. במשטרה מוכרחים להפנים - לפי הדין הבינלאומי והחוק הישראלי השימוש בירי קטלני אסור אלא אם נחוץ למנוע סכנה מיידית לחיי אדם ואין דרך אחרת לשמור על חיי אדם. צדק לתראבין עכשיו.⚠ Statement by 19 Israel-Based Human Rights Organizations on the Deregistration of INGOs 📣We, the undersigned Israel-based human rights organizations united under The Platform, strongly condemn Israel’s decision to deregister international humanitarian organizations operating in the occupied Palestinian territory. At a time of critical need in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, these measures further restrict access to life-saving assistance.
In parallel with, and as part of, Israel’s assault on the people of Gaza, humanitarian access has been severely constrained since October 2023. Despite the ceasefire, essential aid—including food, medicine, shelter, and hygiene items—continues to be delayed or denied. The deregistration of 37 INGOs undermines principled humanitarian action, endangers staff and communities, and compromises effective aid delivery. In the West Bank, as Israeli military, institutional, and settler violence reach unprecedented levels, NGOs play a crucial role in supporting the most vulnerable communities. International humanitarian organizations are essential to reaching those most in need, supporting local partners, and ensuring accountability and transparency; blocking their work puts lives at risk.

The Israeli Knesset is racing to legislate the death penalty, a draconian punishment that violates the right to life, inflicts physical pain and psychological suffering, and gravely violates the right to due process and to live free from torture. Of course those suspected of involvement in attacking innocent people should be held to account. But the death penalty should never be on the table, even in extreme cases like the October 7 massacre.While some encouraging amendments have been made to the new draft as a direct result of significant pressure on committee members from the public and experts, Knesset members - especially the opposition members who supported the bill - should come to their senses and do everything in their power to defeat this proposal and others like it.
